there are three states of matter. the three states of matter are called solid,liquid,gas. when you heat solids they change to liquid . when you heat liquids they change to gas. when you cool gas it changes to liquid. when you cool liquid it changes to solid. gases are easy to compress. solids have a fixed, shape and volume. the particles in solids are very close together. the particles in gas are far apart from each other. liquids have a volume definitive but their shape can change. :)
